At Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center, we pride ourselves in offering some of the highest quality instruction in the nation. All of our instructors are coached by Professional Ski Instructors of America Trainers, and many have also trained with US Ski Team accredited coaches. Guests will quickly see how our instructors love to share their passion for this sport.
Investing in lessons will develop new skills, build confidence and improve skiing technique. We offer group and private lessons for the beginner and improving skier, and suggest booking private lessons and attending some of our special clinics if you are an intermediate through advanced skier.
Learn to Ski or Skate Packages
The Learn-to-Ski package and Learn-to-Skate package are perfect for guests new to the sport. Learn the basics of cruising the flats, climbing the hills and speed control on the downhills. Our experienced instructors are well-versed in teaching beginners in a supportive group environment. They excel at teaching guests the skills needed to assist in helping each student decide where to ski to maximize the enjoyment of their day.
Pricing:
full-day trail pass, rentals and a 90-minute group lesson $49
half-day trail pass, (after 1 p.m.) rentals and a 90-minute group lesson $42
Learn to Ski lessons are offered at:
10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., mid-week
10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., weekends and holidays only
Learn to Skate lessons are offered at:
10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., weekends and holidays only
Tiny Tracks Ski School
Our children’s ski school knows how to get the young members of the family excited about skiing. The package deal for two hours includes supervision, ski instruction, snow play, rental equipment, a snack and a hot drink. Ages 5 to 9. Available weekends and holidays only.

Morning Sessions
10 a.m. – 12 p.m., weekends and holidays only
Afternoon Sessions
12 – 2 p.m.,weekends and holidays only
Group Ski or Skate Lessons
A 90-minute group lessons to learn, or improve your skiing or skating for just $25 (does not include trail pass or rental).
Group classic technique lessons are offered at:
10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., mid-week
10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., weekends and holidays only
Group Skate lessons are offered at:
10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., weekends and holidays only
Private Lessons
Classes will move at each individuals own pace and are tailored to the guests in each group. We purposely keep the cost at $40 per hour (plus $20 per hour for each additional person) to encourage guests to invest in their technique. Trail pass and rentals are not included.
Private lessons are available every day, but must be reserved in advance.
