For skiers and riders who have the proper equipment and training, there is fun inbounds terrain at Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center. Don’t forget, a trail pass is required for any off-piste skiing or boarding within the cross country ski area boundary. Be sure to check the trail map to familiarize yourself with the area. Access to any temporary or permanently closed areas is considered trespassing and violators will be subject to prosecution.
New this year are programs aimed at helping you get out and explore the great backcountry skiing in Tahoe Donner with professional instructors and guides. Learn avalanche skills and find powder with expert instructors. Level requirements vary and space is limited. Book early.
Avy Savvy Class
Dates: Jan. 6, Jan. 27, Feb. 23, March 3 – Half-Day
Skiing Level: All (beginners welcome)
An intro/overview to the backcountry. Learn to use avalanche gear, how to select routes and what to do if someone is caught in an avalanche, plus a beginner-level tour. Open to skiers of all levels. Learn more and sign up at skinastc.com.
Intro to Backcountry Class
Dates: Jan. 7, Jan. 28, Feb. 24, March 4 – Half-Day
Skiing Level: Intermediate and up

Hawks to Euer Valley*
Dates: Jan. 20, Feb. 10, March 10 – Half-Day
Skiing Level: Advanced/expert
