Tahoe Donner is hosting Ski for Light, an international ski week for visually impaired XC skiers at its Cross Country Ski Center Jan. 21-28, 2018. Some 250 visually and mobility-impaired skiers and guides from across North America, the United Kingdom, Northern Europe and Asia will experience Tahoe Donner for a week of skiing. The Ski for Light team and Tahoe Donner will create fun 5K and 10K loops for skiers and their guides. There will be also be racing for expert skiers and a rally for those content with touring. Trails will be busier than usual this week.
Please welcome the Ski for Light guests by saying hello when you see them out on the trails, give verbal warning that you're coming and slow down when passing.
Volunteer opportunities: The Ski for Light organizers need volunteers from the greater Truckee area to aid with ski technique sessions on Jan. 22, 23 and 24, and to help marshal the race/rally course on Jan. 26.
