Seasonal Activities
Tahoe Donner is the destination location in Truckee where traditions begin. We offer an array of activities, events and locations which cater to groups.
Below are group activities offered within Tahoe Donner. “Work hard, play hard” and add a meeting at one of our meeting rooms to your activity.
Lodging opportunities with special discounts and transportation options are also available.
Winter
Downhill Skiing
The best place to begin! Made up of 40% beginner runs and 60% intermediate runs, our hill is great for beginner skiers, families and groups who are looking for a ski hill that is personal and easy to get to while being surrounded by many other amenities. Group rates are offered for lift tickets, lessons and equipment. Add a BBQ on the outside deck which has comfortable seating, picnic tables and fire pits! Group meal packages also available. Or perhaps our famous banana split extravaganza! On your way back down the hill, stop at The Lodge or Pizza on the Hill for après ski or dinner. (Groups consist of 20 or more). Complete buy-outs are also available – at incredible prices.
Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing
The premier facility in Truckee with over 100 kilometers of trails groomed for striding, skating and snowshoeing for beginners to experts. There are group packages for clinics, tickets, and equipment.

Tubing and sledding
A great way to celebrate a birthday or simply bring out a group or family. Add pizza from Pizza on the Hill for a complete pizza sledding party!

Geocaching for Team Building
Using your GPS unit on your own or with your team, adventure around your chosen location on Tahoe Donner property to locate the waypoints of the hidden treasures on snowshoes or cross country skis. Our team can equip you and your group with treasures or you may provide your own. Our pre-plotted waypoints on the GPS units will help you find your way to the stations (depending on the needs of your group, the number of stations can be customized). Our staff can assist with organization and facilitation of this activity.
Summer
Golf
We have one of the top golf courses in the area and have been recognized for the quality of our greens (best in the High Sierra!), the interest and challenge of the course design and the beauty of the alpine setting. It is arguably the brightest of the hidden gems in the Truckee golf community. Special rates are available for tournaments and other groups. Horseback Riding
Horseback riding is a really fun activity to do as a group. The Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center is top notch and offers incredible scenic tours. Add a Western event at our center for your group! BBQ, entertainment… and don’t forget to add cowboy hats!
Hike and Mountain Bike Tours
Tahoe Donner consists of incredible, maintained trails perfect for a guided hike or mountain bike ride along with bike rentals. Let our guides show you the way! (Groups consist of 10 or more)
Bocce Ball and Archery
Try your skills at these games down by the Bennett Flat Patio, outside our Meadow meeting room.
We can make arrangements for packages, lessons and tournaments.
Get together in one of our meeting rooms at either The Lodge, Pizza on the Hill, or rent out the Ski Lodge. Accompanied by a continental breakfast, lunch or dinner, and a ski in the winter or golf in the summer, makes a great day.

Backcountry Group Guided Tour
Enjoy the splendors of the Sierra backcountry in Tahoe Donner with our experienced outdoor guides. In summer, hiking and mountain biking are available. We can tailor all outings to your group’s needs. Our guides offer tours that are easygoing and educational, or challenging and adventurous. Either way, the outings are informative about wildlife, plants, Native American history, or the old West history of this region.
