Place: Tahoe Donner Northwoods Clubhouse, 11509 Northwoods Boulevard

Time: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Truckee’s history centers on railroads, tourism and dealing with the “storm king.” Dr. Czerwinski will present an overview of Truckee’s first 150 years from emigrant trails, trains, highways, weather, and winter sports that culminated into a premier year-round tourist town.

Dr. Czerwinski retired in May 2010 to join her husband, Ed, who had moved to the Town of Truckee in June 2009. She had completed a 49 year career as a registered nurse that started in California and then to Indiana, Missouri, Texas, New York, Ohio and finally Arizona.  She has become active with a weekly hiking/snowshoeing group; appointed by Town of Truckee Council to the 2010-2011 Parking Working Group; Truckee Donner Railroad Society member, museum docent and board member 2012-2014; and Truckee Donner Historical Society member, volunteer researcher and board member 2011-2013.
