Are You Fire-Safe?

Fire danger high this summer

The extraordinarily low precipitation last winter is an indicator that the threat of wildfire is greater than usual. Tahoe Donner urges each homeowner and guest to use extreme caution this summer due to the recent drought conditions creating high fire danger.

To learn more about what you can do to further prepare your property for defensible space and reduce potential fire hazards this summer see Tahoe Donner’s forestry pages and CALFireā€™s website

Additionally, we encourage each household to review their emergency preparedness and evacuation plan in the event of an actual emergency. The Nevada County and Greater Truckee Area Emergency Preparedness and Evacuation plan provides valuable information and is a great guide.

Take a few moments now to review the information available so you can be prepared if an unpredictable event should occur. It is the responsibility of every property owner, resident and visitor to keep our beautiful surroundings safe and to ensure future generations will be able to enjoy all that we have come to appreciate.
