Please take a moment to fill out a survey regarding our winter operations. By doing so, you’ll help the association to make informed decisions about future operations.

The brief survey asks specific questions about your experiences at our winter operations including the Downhill Ski Area, Cross Country Ski Center, Snowplay, Trout Creek Recreation Center and the food and beverage operations. While it will only take about 10 minutes to complete, your answers will be very helpful in future operational and capital investment decisions.

Truckee Donner PUD Pipeline Construction for Summer 2013

Truckee Donner PUD is contracting for water mainline replacements in the Tahoe Donner Area this summer (see map below). Work will begin in early May and will run through the summer construction period.

The work will begin on the Northwoods at Coyote Moon section as per the contract documents. The rest of the schedule will be discussed with the contractor at an upcoming pre-construction meeting once the contract documents are in place. The work will be sequential moving from one location to another so only one area will be impacted at a time.

The Truckee Donner PUD has undertaken this water mainline replacement project to address persistent leaks and an aging water system in Tahoe Donner. The Truckee Donner PUD has made significant investments in replacing Tahoe Donner’s water distribution system and fixing leaks over the last decade, resulting in substantial water savings.  Although these projects can cause some short-term traffic disruptions and delays, the reduced water waste and associated energy savings due to reduced pumping costs are there for the long-term!

Guests will start to see exciting changes for dining and the pro shop at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub, including improvements at the covered pub deck and new sun deck, with pro shop expansion, snack bar expansion, and kitchen improvements occurring in early 2013, and a permanent grotto bar in early spring as weather permits. The Sierra Sun published a story about two people facing possession of stolen property charges after they were arrested this week on suspicion of being involved in a rash of vehicle burglaries in Tahoe Donner. According to a Tuesday evening press release from the Truckee Police Department, several thefts deemed “crimes of opportunity” by officers occurred overnight from unlocked vehicles in Tahoe Donner during the Thanksgiving weekend. Please click here read Suzy Knisley’s recent letter of farewell in Tahoe Donner News. It is with sincere regret that the board announces the resignation of Suzy Knisley, effective at the end of December. Over the last five and a half years, Suzy has served the Association well, including two terms as president. Her positive impact on Tahoe Donner is evident and she will be missed. Thank you, Suzy, for your hard work and dedication to the betterment of Tahoe Donner.

Even as we wish Suzy the best, we need to fill the open board position created by her resignation. All homeowners in good standing are eligible and interested property owners should email executive assistant Bonnie Watkins or call (530) 587-9431 to receive a Board questionnaire to be submitted with a statement of interest in fulfilling the remaining six months of this position. Deadline for receipt of your application is Noon on December 10th.
