SUMMER FINALE MEMBERSHIP EVENT – SUMMER OLYMPICS

A day of family competition with classic and new games for all ages. Families can participate in one, two, or all of the activities. Prizes will be awarded for each activity and for overall winners. There is no cost to enter the activities. Food will be served all day at a la carte pricing. The competition with conclude with a Scavenger Hunt (look for clues all over the association!) and a Cornhole tournament. Finally, the evening will culminate with a movie on the big screen inside the Adventure Center.

TIME: 1–9 p.m.
WHERE: Alder Creek Adventure Center (15275 Alder Creek Road)
COST: Entry and activities are free, food a la carte

Schedule

1 p.m. – Opening Ceremony: Introduction and explanation of how the day is going to work. Family/team registration. Announcement for the Land Trust event.

1:15 p.m. – Event #1:  Doughnut Eating Contest: Teams will compete to finish a doughnut hanging from a string first without using their hands. Either one competition, or heats depending on the number of participants. The three fastest eaters/families will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

2:00 p.m. – Event #2: Rubber Band Shooting: Teams will go head to head to see who can knock cups off of a table first using only rubber bands from a set distance. Single elimination tournament style. The top three finishers will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

2:30 p.m. – Event #3: Marshmallow Construction: Teams will be given 15 minutes to construct the tallest structure using only marshmallows and spaghetti. When the timer sounds, the structures will be measured with the three tallest receiving points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

3:00 p.m. – Event #4: Badminton Rally: The goal is to get as many hits as possible. Each team will divide into two teams and occupy each side of a net. Each team will be given three chances to rally (a rally ending when the birdie hits the ground). Staff will count the number of times the birdie goes over the net and add all three rally scores together to get a total score. The top three scoring teams will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

3:30 p.m. – Event #5: Junk In The Trunk: Teams will select one player to participate in a head to head competition. The object of the game is to get the table tennis balls out of a tissue box without using hands. The tissue box will be strapped around their waste. Single elimination tournament style. The top three finishers will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

 4:00 p.m. – Event #6: Suck It Up: Teams/families will need to transfer M & M’s from one plate to another using only a straw. Every team will compete at once. First three teams to complete the task will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

4:20 p.m. – Event #7: Knee Trembler: Each team will transport oranges from a starting area to a hula hoop using only their knees. First team to transport five oranges into the hoop wins. Head to head competition. Single elimination tournament style. The top three finishers will receive points: 1st – 3, 2nd – 2, and 3rd – 1.

5:00 p.m. – There will be two options for the final event of the evening!

Option 1 – Scavenger Hunt: Teams will compete to collect all the clues in one hour. This activity will require that the team have transportation as the clues will be located all over the association.

Option 2 – Cornhole tournament: Single or Double elimination tournament depending on the number of players.

6:30 – 7 p.m. – Closing Ceremony and awards: One family/team will be crowned “Champions of the Summer” and will be awarded a trophy.

7 p.m. – Movie starts inside the Adventure Center

FALL FESTIVAL

Join us for the seventh annual Fall Festival, one of our biggest events of the year! There’s something for everyone at our harvest festival from arts and craft vendors, our annual doggie dip, seasonal beer offerings, the pumpkin patch, a carnival area for kids with arts, crafts, games and food, and much more!

DATE: October 8, TIME: 11 A.M. – 5 P.M.
WHERE: Northwoods Clubhouse
COST: $20 For wristband or purchase tickets a la carte for $1 per ticket
