Fat biking is a fun alternative way to explore our winter trails at the Cross Country Ski Area. We welcome fat biking on designated trails when conditions allow. A daily fat bike ticket or fat bike season pass is required to access the trail system.
Fat bikes offer a fun alternative way to explore the trails. Fat bikes are just like a regular mountain bike with extra fat tires which are specially designed to travel on snow or sand. We offer machine groomed and snowmobile packed trails for fat biking and offer fat bikes for rent (subject to conditions and availability). We recommend wearing a helmet at all times during fat bike riding, as well as wearing appropriate winter gear.
We have a limited number of fat bikes available to rent on a first come basis. Rental is $34 for up to 2 hrs. (A fat bike daily ticket is an additional $15 for Members, $19 for public).
Please be sure to check the daily grooming report before leaving home and check with staff on arrival to confirm if it is a fat bike riding day, and be prepared to ski or snowshoe if all bikes are out or its too warm or soft for a positive biking experience. Rentals are available on a first come basis and cannot be reserved.
Fat bike trail access can change daily and even hourly depending on conditions. Fresh snow and warm temperatures can lead to ‘no fat biking’ days or times, or reduced access. Visit the daily grooming report before leaving home, and check with staff on arrival as conditions change.
Fat bikes are allowed on the following 7km of machine groomed ski trails daily when conditions permit (see “Fat Bike Trails Open or Closed?” below)
Fat bikes are also allowed on all 11km of snowmobile packed ‘singletrack’ snowshoe trails daily when conditions permit (see "Fat Bike Trail Open or Closed?" below).
On Tuesday and Sunday mornings fat bikes will be allowed on all Home Range and Sunrise Bowl Trails (40km) before 11am when conditions permit. Riding is not permitted on the Euer Valley Trails or on the Interconnect to the Downhill Area.
Failure to abide by these rules and etiquette may result in loss of daily ticket or season pass and other privileges.
