Snowshoeing Trails

Eleven km of ‘Single Track’ trails have been specially designed for snowshoers to avoid the skier traffic and access to some of the most scenic spots of the trail system. Check our grooming report to see what's open.

We prefer that you use the snowshoe trails when they are open to minimize damage to the skiing surface, but snowshoers are allowed to use any of the 100+ km of ski trails at Tahoe Donner. If you are on a ski trail, please keep to the edges of the trails for safety and be careful not to damage the striding tracks or skating lanes.

A trail pass is required to use the trails in the winter. Walking without snowshoes or skis is not allowed as foot traffic damages the snow surface for our skiers.

We have an extensive rental fleet of snowshoes, snow boots, and adjustable snowshoe poles for rent. We recommend you bring and wear your own hiking/snow boots if you have them for maximum comfort.

Snowshoeing is easy to learn and is a great activity for the whole family to experience together. We offer private lessons and tours for individuals and groups to learn the basic skills and learn about the local flora and fauna from one of our knowledgeable guides

Please be aware that Fat Bikes are also allowed to use the single track when conditions allow.
