THE TENNIS CENTER IS NOW OPEN WITH LIMITED SERVICES. PLEASE SEE DETAILS BELOW.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, operations at the Tennis Center have been adjusted in strict accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health. Thank you for exercising caution when using the Tennis Center.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Open daily through October 31 (weather and conditions permitting): 8AM-Dusk

COURT RESERVATIONS PROCEDURES, ACCESS POLICIES, SINGLES PLAY AND TENNIS/PICKLEBALL LESSONS

  • Members can reserve courts beginning at 7AM one day prior to the desired court time. Guests may begin calling at 12PM to reserve the following day’s court times.
  • Call (530) 587-9474 and choose Option Two to make your reservation request.
  • No walk-in court access is allowed.
  • Calls will be returned if a reservation request cannot be fulfilled.
  • Any calls received prior to 7AM will be placed in the back of the queue.
  • Start times will be staggered every 15 minutes beginning at 8AM.
  • A maximum of four groups can reserve each 15-minute start block. This will help reduce backlog at the check-in counter and maintain social distancing requirements.
  • Play cannot begin prior to the 8AM opening time and cannot continue later than the dusk closing time.
  • The maximum length of time a court can be reserved is 90 minutes. This will allow for courts to be sanitized if necessary and will keep players from waiting outside or on courts while other players are still playing.
  • Singles play from two different households is permitted.
  • Each singles player must furnish their own set of uniquely marked tennis balls/pickleballs (i.e. different brands, numbers or marked initials).
  • Each player, when serving, will use their own set of tennis balls/pickleballs.
  • Groups of three or more are limited to families and people who reside within the same household. Open to members, member guests and unaccompanied guests with guest card.
  • All names and contact information of each participant are needed in case contact tracing is required.
  • No player under the age of 18 is permitted at the facility without a parent or guardian at any time.
  • Private and semi-private (within the same household only) tennis and pickleball lessons are now permitted.
  • No more than two people from the same household are permitted on the court at the same time.
  • Only the teaching professional will handle tennis balls/pickleballs during a lesson.
  • Serving lessons will be unavailable unless the player furnishes their own tennis balls/pickleballs.
  • Lesson times will be shortened by five minutes to allow for sanitization of common touchpoints between lessons.

FACILITY ENTRANCE, CHECK-IN AND EXIT

  • When exiting and entering the facility, the wearing of face masks is required, except during play.
  • The entrance to the Tennis Center will be on the pathway between Northwoods Clubhouse and Pool. This is closer to the east side of the parking lot.
  • Players will enter through the gate on the west side of Court 1 to the right of the intersection rock.
  • Players will then proceed up the ADA access ramp and line up six feet apart in front of the outside check-in window to scan member cards, pay for access and receive their assigned court.
  • Once checked in, players will proceed down the right side of all walkways and access paths and, upon returning from their courts, will again stay to the right side of all pathways.
  • The exit for the Tennis Center will be on the west side of the facility between the pro shop and the upper two courts (10 and 11) and continue to the right of the intersection rock into the west side of the parking lot past the little wooden bridge.
  • There will be no loitering at the tennis facility prior to and after play.
  • Please show up no more than 10 minutes prior to your assigned start time and leave promptly at the completion of play and/or your assigned 105-minute finish time.

RESTROOM USAGE, WATER FOUNTAINS AND TOWELS

  • Restrooms will be open and available for use, but please practice social distancing as we are asking that only one person at a time utilize the restroom. Please wash and/or sanitize your hands before and after entering and exiting the restroom. Also, the wearing of face masks in restrooms is suggested, as the flushing of toilets and urinals can aerosolize particles.
  • The water fountain for drinking will be unavailable for use.
  • The water bottle filling station will be operational. Please use your key, a pencil or something other than your finger to activate the dispenser. If you use your finger, please wash your hands or use hand sanitizer available throughout the facility.
  • You must bring your own water bottles to the facility. No loaner, paper or plastic cups will be available on site. The pro shop will have water bottles for sale.
  • Showers will be closed for use.
  • Hand towels and shower towels will be unavailable.

ON-COURT PROCEDURES

  • Please always practice social distancing while playing on the court, getting to the court or going anywhere within the facility, on access paths or in parking lots.
  • Do not leave any trash, clothing, equipment or personal belongings on the court after you have completed play. These items will most likely be thrown out if found.
  • Follow best hygiene practices. No spitting or snot rockets are allowed anywhere on the court at any time. Please bring a tissue, towel, hanky or old t-shirt if you feel the need to engage in these activities.
  • Do not handle any tennis ball that is accidentally hit onto your court with your hands. Pick it up with your foot/racket, or just kick it back to the correct court.
  • Please remember to not touch your face when you have entered the facility unless you have washed your hands or used either your own or the provided hand sanitizer.
  • Singles play from two different households is permitted.
  • Each singles player must furnish their own set of uniquely marked tennis balls/pickleballs (i.e. different brands, numbers or marked initials).
  • Each player, when serving, will use their own set of tennis balls/pickleballs.

RENTAL RACKETS, BALL MACHINES AND PRO SHOP SALES

  • All rackets will be wiped down and grips will be replaced after each use.
  • No rental ball hoppers or footwear will be available at this time.
  • Cans of tennis balls will be available for sale.

  • The control panel/adjustment bar will be wiped down at the end of each use.
  • The player/group must be finished with all the balls picked up at five minutes to the hour to allow time to sanitize hoppers and machines prior to the next use.
