Director Election Forum (Virtual Event)

The event will feature a panel of the current 2026 Board of Directors election candidates, moderated by the Inspector of Elections, and will focus on topics submitted by members. This is the time to learn more about the candidates and hear them address issues that are important to you.

THE TOP 5 TOPICS SUBMITTED BY MEMBERS
Here are the member-submitted topics that you can expect candidates to address at this event:

1. Financial Stewardship and Affordability
Assessments, budgeting, capital spending, profitability, and overall financial sustainability. Questions included managing budget risk during poor snow years, annual assessment increases, curtailing spending, and the financial performance of amenities such as the golf course and The Lodge.

2. Community Character, Growth and Property Values
Short‑term rentals, future development, quality of life, and protecting property values. Questions included reducing STR impacts, protecting member value, guiding future growth, and maintaining Tahoe Donner’s overall character.

3. Amenities, Recreation and Long‑Term Planning
Recreation facilities, capital improvements, and the long‑range vision for Tahoe Donner. Questions included DH Ski Lodge operations and summer uses, XC Center investment, mountain bike trail expansion, future recreation priorities, and long‑term planning for the community.

4. Governance, Leadership and Decision‑Making
Board effectiveness, collaboration, accountability, and how difficult decisions are made. Questions included board term limits, governance and consensus‑building, decisions candidates disagreed with, and candidate qualifications and motivation.

5. Member Experience, Communication and Services
Transparency, member engagement, and practical quality‑of‑life issues. Questions included communication effectiveness, capital project transparency, insurance challenges, mailboxes, golf course access, and bike paths.
