We always close out the season with a big bang! Hope you’ll come out for the annual Downhill Dummy and Rail Jam event on Sunday, April 15.

Lift tickets will be discounted at half-day rates for the entire day. In addition to skiing and riding, we will offer snow tubing on this special day, plus a free bounce house.

The rail jam kicks-off at 12 p.m. We’ll have live music from Forget the Roses on the deck all afternoon, plus food and drink specials.

The highlight of the afternoon is the Downhill Dummy. Teams build unique dummies to send down the hill and launch off a jump. This year’s theme is movie characters, and prizes will be awarded for best design, best air and best crash. Watch them fly down the hill starting at 4:30 p.m. You’ll want to get there early to get a good spot to watch!

We’re bringing back the popular April special – Burger and a Beer for $11.50 - at the Lodge Restaurant & Pub.

Our burgers are downright delicious! We offer a large list of toppings to customize yours just the way you like it, cooked to perfection. (Extra fee may apply.) Beers included in the special are Budweiser, Bud Light and Coors Light bottles. (Additional beers are available for an additional fee.)

Burger Month is available every night through the month of April, in the entire restaurant, but cannot be combined with any other coupon, discount or promotion.

Horsemanship camps and lessons will no longer be offered at Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center. The facility and programs will be going through a restructuring and resizing process so that the amenity can continue to provide core services to our members, but operate at less of a loss. Beginning this summer, the Equestrian Center’s main focus will be boarding, trail and pony rides and BBQ’s.

There are preliminary plans to offer a “trail day camp” on a limited basis. On select dates, we will offer a half-day program for ages 8 and up. Participants will get to groom and saddle/unsaddle their horse and go for a trail ride; upon return, they will get to help feed the lunch to the horses and listen to a short lecture on various horse-related topics. Keep an eye on our website for further details on this program.

For those students who are looking for riding instruction or the week-long camp experience, a nearby alternative is Piping Rock Equestrian Center. Located 5 minutes from downtown Truckee, they offer both lessons and horsemanship camps during the 2012 summer season. Tahoe Donner Golf Course season passes are on sale now, with pre-season discounts available through April 30. Sure, there’s still snow on the ground, but that will be gone before you know it – and this year looks good for a much earlier start to the golf season than last year.

A variety of packs and passes are on the menu, depending on your budget and how often you like to play. This year, golfers who are not homeowners at Tahoe Donner can purchase an unlimited or five day pass, in addition to the previously available weekday afternoon pass. As always, members may book tee times up to 14 days in advance, while public golfers may book up to 12 days in advance.

Also new this year is a Four Pack which can be used all at once for a foursome, or on four individual rounds on different days. The Four Pack costs just $316 (that’s $79 a round including cart!) and may be used any time before June 29 and after September 3. Snowplay will be open all week beginning Monday, April 2, and going through April 8. Snowplay will be operating at its full hours from 9:30 a.m – 4:30 p.m. Come out for sledding and tubing, snowball targets, build a snowman, and roast s’mores.

With all the new snow we’ve received this March, the sledding is better then ever! We have multiple sledding lanes and a fast tubing lane. Snowplay is fun for the whole family and a great idea for anyone’s Spring Break!
