Tahoe Donner offers a variety of fun programs led by skilled instructors to help XC skiers of all ages and abilities.

FALL PRE-SEASON CONDITIONING
Improve your balance, technique and fitness to start the ski season in style when the snow flies – all while meeting new friends who love to ski.

  • Saturdays: 8:30-10AM | Six sessions from October 15–November 19, 2022
  • Level: All ages (13 and older) and levels of ski ability are welcome. Basic level of fitness required, as participants will be moving for over an hour.
  • Cost for the 6 Sessions: $99 Member, $119 Public


BEGINNER PROGRAMS

DISCOVER XC SKIING
The BEST way to learn about the joys of cross country skiing, spread over four weeks. Learn traditional striding techniques and downhill control, and try skate skiing if you wish.

Day/Time: Sundays: 1-2:30PM
Level: Beginner/Improver
Dates: January 8, 15, 22 and 29
February 5, 12, 19 and  26
March 5, 12, 19 and 26

Program includes trail pass and rental gear for all sessions.

LEARN TO SKATE
An ideal program if you are new to ski skating or just getting started. Our skilled instructors will help you dial in the fundamentals of correct body positioning and timing of movements to make skating efficient and fun.

Day/Time: Mondays: 10-11:30AM
Level: Some cross country or downhill skiing, the ability to be active on skis for over an hour required
Dates: January 2, 9, 16, and 23
February 6, 13, 20 and 27

SISTERS IN SKATING – BEGINNERS
A group just for women to ski together and discover the fun of skate skiing under the careful guidance of our best female instructors. To make it even easier to get started, the price of this class includes a trail pass and rentals if needed.

Level: Some cross country or downhill skiing, the ability to be active on skis for over an hour required

SENIORS – LEARN TO SKI
The focus of this group is to learn traditional-style cross country skiing at your own pace. To make it easy to get started, the price of this class includes a trail pass and rentals if needed.

PROGRAMS TO IMPROVE

SISTERS IN SKATING – INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
A group just for women to ski together and improve skate skiing under the careful guidance of our best female instructors.

Day/Time: Wednesdays: 10-11:30AM
Levels: Intermediate, able to ski green trails or more advanced terrain/advanced, skiing blue trails and exploring black trails
Dates: January 4, 11, 18 and 25

DOWNHILLS 101
Looking to improve your skills and confidence on downhills? This four-week series is designed to help you gain control and confidence on the downhills. Learn skills for controlling speed and cornering, which will help you enjoy the hills even more.

Level: Skiing green trails regularly and ready to explore blue, classic and skate skiers welcome

UPHILL SKATING
Suffering on uphills and climbs? Come learn how refining basic skills for efficiency improves your skate ski climbing.

SKATE WITH THE GUYS
For guys who are already skate skiing and are ready to learn more. See your skiing skills progress to be able to ski faster and more efficiently.

Level: Able to skate ski green or more advanced terrain, instruction for newer through advanced skaters

SENIORS – IMPROVERS
Designed to continue to build your skills once you have mastered the basics. The focus of this group is traditional style classic skiing and may include an introduction to skate skiing if requested.

Level: Some cross country or downhill ski experience recommended
Dates: January 6, 13, 20 and 27
February 3, 10, 17 and 24

STORM DAYS

We are a hardy bunch of coaches, but in the event of a major snow or rain event, we may decide to cancel sessions. A decision to cancel will be communicated by email to you the day before the scheduled session.
