WHO WE ARE
In 1971 Tahoe Donner was created with the vision of a family resort community with beautiful mountain homes, ample open space and “every recreational facility a family could want right at their fingertips.” It had never been done before.
Today, Tahoe Donner is Northern California’s largest resort community and one of the largest homeowner associations in the United States. The community includes nearly 6,500 homes on 7,620 acres, with more than 25,000 member homeowners invested in its ongoing success. Additionally, each year more than 400,000 visiting guests enjoy Tahoe Donner and its unrivaled access to everything that makes North Lake Tahoe great.
OUR CULTURE
We value a healthy work-life balance at Tahoe Donner because we realize that many people live in our High Sierra wonderland to pursue passions beyond how they pay the bills. While we appreciate and reward hard work, we keep sane work hours and encourage everyone to make the most of their time off, whether that means a bike ride during lunch, a run after work or a spring road trip to chase powder. We’ll step up while you’re gone, just like you will when we head out on our next adventure.
We also value community, because we live and work in a place where it means something. Here, our coworkers are also our friends and neighbors, which leads to a whole new level of care and support. All roles provide opportunities to develop meaningful relationships with members, vacationing guests and residents of the North Lake Tahoe community – the same people we see at the grocery store, on the trails and dropping their kids off at school.

OUR PEOPLE
“I’ve always heard great things about Tahoe Donner; it’s always been one of those places I’ve wanted to work. The quality of the food and service is incredible. It’s the fun stuff to be involved and be a part of something, like finding that camaraderie in the kitchen.”
– Matt Hale, Former Tahoe Donner Executive Chef
“I took this job over other positions because this place matters to me, because it’s where I got my start. I’ve worked on and off here since I was 16, so there’s not one job on this golf property that I haven’t done. This course – Tahoe Donner’s course – is home.”
– Jeff Hwang, Head Golf Professional
“Working at Tahoe Donner allows me to share my love of the outdoors with others. When I’m not Nordic ski patrolling, ski instructing or leading mountain bike rides, I write short stories and essays — an extension of my work. It’s rewarding to be an ambassador for my passions.”
– Charlotte Gross, Cross Country Ski Patroller and Instructor/Bikeworks Kids Camps Instructor
“Teaching new skiers is uplifting, and working alongside instructors of diverse ages and nationalities is inspiring. My skiing improves, new opportunities open up to me, and I gain an insider perspective about skiing. TD seasonal work provides some of my favorite college and post-college memories.”
– Conor Villines, Tahoe Donner Ski School Instructor
“Came for the cross country skiing; stayed for the people. TD staff are some of the best, most enthusiastic people I’ve had the pleasure of working with, from seasonal employees to senior managers. Everyone here understands the desire to get out and play while still getting hard work done, too.”
– Drew Deurlington, Graphic Designer
“I grew up at my family’s vacation home in Tahoe Donner during the 70s. In 2017, I followed my life dream to move here permanently. I love the day-to-day operations, our friendly team and the chance to interact with Tahoe Members and their families. There’s never a dull moment!”
– Sandy Sutherland, Loss and Risk Prevention Coordinator/Former Trout Creek Recreation Center Supervisor
“I thoroughly enjoy working at Tahoe Donner. The whole team is very supportive and like-minded with a sense of passion for the outdoors. Great employee benefits allow me and my family to live a healthy and worry-free lifestyle.”
– Nathanael Christensen, Tahoe Donner Forestry Department
