Yard Waste Carts

Yard waste carts will end service on your collection day the second week of November. Visit this page for more info. 

First-time yard cart orders can be made online at keeptruckeegreen.org, and orders for additional yard carts must be made by calling TTSD at (530) 583-7800.

Green Waste Dumpsters

Maximum of two six-yard dumpsters per household. Call TTSD to order at (530) 583-7800. Available May-October only. These will sell out, so book in advance! Delivered to your property on Wednesday and retrieved full on the following Wednesday. Loose material only – do not put in bags.

TRUCKEE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT DEFENSIBLE SPACE REBATE PROGRAM:
TFPD will reimburse the cost of a green waste dumpster so you can remove vegetation and create defensible space around your home! Simply provide a paid receipt from TTSD. One dumpster rebate per household, until program funds last. For full details, visit Keep Truckee Green or call (530) 582-7850.

Drop-Off Services at Eastern Regional Landfill

Truckee residents who have the means to self-haul yard waste material to the Eastern Regional Landfill (ERL) are allowed to drop off up to six yards of yard waste for free between May 1 and October 31. Residents need to unload their material themselves once at ERL. Please do not bring bags.

In order to take advantage of the free drop-off, Truckee residents are required to bring proof of residency (something with a Truckee address ­ – utility bill, drivers license, etc.). ERL is located just three miles past the mouse hole tunnel on Highway 89 and up Cabin Creek Road.
