ATTN: MEMBERS – COURT RESERVE ACCOUNT VERIFICATION NEEDED
In anticipation of an exciting 2026 season, we’re making some updates to CourtReserve to improve the booking experience and align with the new Amenity Access Rule. Before making reservations for the 2026 season, all Tahoe Donner members will need to complete a couple of quick, one-time steps to verify their membership in CourtReserve. We highly recommend doing this now so any issues can be resolved ahead of the peak summer season. Learn more here.Member child account verification can only be done by emailing tennis@tahoedonner.com

Future tennis and pickleball stars can immerse themselves with up to three hours of daily instruction and play-based learning throughout the summer.

Our coaching follows the USTA Net Generation and USA Pickleball youth platforms. Tennis programs utilize red, orange, green and yellow ball progressions to ensure age-appropriate skill development and on-court success. Led by a highly-trained professional staff, each session builds athletic skills, confidence and a lifelong love for the game. Families can choose flexible hourly clinics that fit easily around other summer activities, or enroll in a more immersive, structured one-week tennis camp designed for players ages 10 and up.

Space is limited; register online with your CourtReserve account.

  • Red Ball (ages 5–8): The introductory level for the youngest players. Uses low-compression red felt balls (75% slower than standard) on a smaller court with a lower net. The smaller court and slower ball help kids develop basic hand-eye coordination, rallying, and foundational stroke mechanics without being overwhelmed.
  • Orange Ball (ages 8–9): A step up in challenge. Uses orange low-compression balls (50% slower than standard) on a 60-foot court. Kids develop more consistent groundstrokes, basic serving technique, and begin learning simple game strategies. The ball bounces lower and slower, giving players more time to get into position.
  • Green Ball (ages 10–11): The transition stage toward full tennis. Uses green dot balls (25% slower than standard) on a full 78-foot court with a standard net. Players begin to experience the real game while still having a slight speed advantage to build consistency and confidence in longer rallies and point play.
  • Yellow Ball (ages 12+): The standard game with regulation yellow tennis balls on a full court. Players at this level have developed the physical and technical skills to handle a full-speed ball and are ready to compete in traditional match play and tournaments.
  • Age ranges are provided as general guidelines, but placement may be adjusted based on each child’s experience to ensure the best developmental fit.
