Tahoe Donner Trails

Trail system CLOSED to foot, bike, and equestrian traffic until roads and trails are dry. Please help us protect our trails and roads by staying off muddy trails.

The Tahoe Donner Trail System is the ultimate playground for hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers and equestrians with more than 46 miles of singletrack trails and 30 miles of doubletrack administrative roads spanning over 5,000 acres. With thousands of users – horses and dogs included – it is essential that we all work together and observe basic trail rules and etiquette to keep Tahoe Donner Lands and Open Space safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Tahoe Donner’s popular Euer Valley area is undergoing major trail improvements this summer as part of a planned restoration project. Multiple trail and road closures will be in effect beginning in May with work continuing through November 2026.

  • NO ACCESS to Coyote Crossing Bridge and boardwalk from South Valley Road due to meadow restoration. Obey all closure signs. New sustainable single track coming this season.

The East Perimeter Trail from Hillside Dr, including Hansel, to Schussing Way is CLOSED. Trail will be reconstructed in Spring 2026 once conditions allow.

For your safety and the success of these long-term improvements, please stay off all closed trails and obey posted signage.
