Tahoe Donner Is a Smoke-Free Workplace and Resort

Tahoe Donner Association took the lead on reducing fire danger through adoption of a smoking prohibition on Tahoe Donner-owned property in October 2015. This smoking prohibition applies to all Tahoe Donner facilities including but not limited to The Lodge Restaurant & Pub, Tahoe Donner Golf Course, Northwoods Clubhouse, Beach Club Marina, Trout Creek Recreation Center, Alder Creek Adventure Center, the Equestrian Center, the Tennis Center, Tahoe Donner Campground, the ski areas, parking lots, and open space and trails.

Pursuant to authorities provided under the Tahoe Donner Association:
Covenants Rule
II. General Common Area, Other Association Owned Property and Amenity Rules
Smoking. Smoking is prohibited at all amenities, on Common Areas, and on other Association-owned properties.

Fines for violation of the smoking rule start at $50 and may be assessed, per incident, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis according to the nature and severity of the infraction and at the discretion of the Covenants Committee.

Member and Guest Engagement for Rule Enforcement
• Information flow: Employees to receive reminder of rule by Monday, July 30. Membership and public to receive notification on Tuesday, July 31.
• Enforcement

• Enforcement will be facilitated by amenity management and staff
• If a member,
  • Compliance violation will be instituted through established compliance procedures by making complaint to compliance@tahoedonner.com or calling Darren Davis at the complaint phone line: (530) 414-8166.
• If a guest or public,
  • TDA staff will enforce this rule by respectful verbal request. Should guest or public refuse, staff can call Truckee Police to enforce removal of guest or public from facility due to violation of said rule and trespassing.
• Signage
  • No Smoking on TDA premise signs are posted at facilities, trailheads, and parking lots
