Introducing True Grit - A New Singletrack Trail in Tahoe Donner

Introducing the opening of True Grit – the newest trail in Tahoe Donner! An intermediate singletrack, True Grit connects users from Moondance Hut to just above Sundance Hut. Beyond this point, the trail continues up the East face of Hawk’s Peak connecting with the Mother Lode Trail above Andromeda Rd.

True Grit allows hikers and bikers to skip the longer access road climb up Sundance and Crazy Horse. It crosses Cinnamon Twist and Sundance Connector, creating a variety of new, family-friendly loops close to Alder Creek Adventure Center.

Keep in mind that True Grit is not shown on our 2018 summer trail map but has been added to the digital trail map and the new OuterSpatial app for Tahoe Donner Trails.  Please be advised that new trails tend to perform best after they have the chance to winter-over under snowpack.  The trail is dusty and loose in areas due to very dry conditions.
