Short-Term Rental Registration | Where We Are Today

Architectural Standards, Member News

It’s been over a year since the new Short Term Rental (STR) rules and registration requirements were adopted. Since then, we’ve had more than 900 homeowners register their STR. Here is a look at where we are now and some answers to common questions we’ve received.

SHORT-TERM RENTAL RULES

To preserve and protect the quiet residential nature of the Tahoe Donner community and address issues related to short-term rentals including over-crowding of homes and parking, the board of directors has approved new Short-Term Rental (STR) rules for all Tahoe Donner homeowners who short-term rent their property. The resolution and rules were passed on October 27, 2018 with an effective date of January 1, 2019. All STR property owners are required to register with Tahoe Donner within 60 days from January 1, 2019.
