Truckee Fire Protection District will be leading an interagency wildfire drill as part of continuing regional emergency response preparedness.  The wildfire drill location is planned for Tahoe Donner which allows for Tahoe Donner residents in the fire zone to participate and test preparedness efforts including evacuation.  Tahoe Donner is participating in the drill and members should anticipate seeing signage and receiving drill notifications through Town of Truckee Emergency Operations communications (Nixle, wireless alerts, etc.) and Tahoe Donner’s assistance through its member communication tools.

The exercise will include:

  1. Command exercise
    1. Emergency agencies response: Truckee Fire, CalFire, Truckee PD, CHP, outside agencies TBD (North Tahoe Fire, Squaw, Forest Service, etc)
    2. Emergency notification
  1. Evacuation tabletop exercise
  2. Progressive hose lay at the site of the drill location, along streets and houses
  3. Structure Assessment – a simulated structure assessment will occur in the affected wildfire zone
  4. Area Familiarization – the drill provides the emergency response agencies the ability to continue familiarization of the Tahoe Donner subdivision.
