Alder Creek Adventure Center, Alder Creek Cafe, Association News, Cross Country Ski Area, Member News, Trails

The trails are calling, and Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center is open for business this Friday through Sunday! With the season’s freshest snow covering 16-20 kilometers of trails all the way to Drifter Hut, slide into outdoor adventures the right way this snowy holiday weekend.

Trails will be open Friday through Sunday 8:30AM-5PM. Be sure to check the web for the most up-to-date hours of operation beyond these dates.

CONDITIONS
There’s nothing like the first ski of the season, and we are opening with 16-20 kilometers of trail this weekend. Expect two-way trails and limited beginner terrain with a thin snow base to Moondance Hut and great conditions all the way up to Drifter Hut. View a grooming report here for live conditions.

Once open, free access to cross country trails are no longer available, and biking and hiking are no longer allowed. Additionally, we look forward to seeing you all this weekend, but please keep your furry ski pals at home, as dog trails are not yet open.

SEASON PASSES
No reservations are required for season passholders to ski at this time. If you purchased a season pass, we are excited to activate it when you arrive at Alder Creek Adventure Center – just head to the ticket window. With a quick activation from one of our staff, you’ll be on your way. For ticket window hours, click here.

TRAIL PASSES + RENTALS
If you do not have a season pass or you need skis or snowshoes, limited trail passes and rentals are available. All trail passes and rentals must be pre-purchased in advance. No walk-up purchases will be available. Trail passes and rentals will be available for purchase online in ShopTD starting at 9AM on Wednesday, November 25.

For those who wish to purchase a season pass for unrestricted ski days, they are available now in our online store.

ALDER CREEK CAFE
Fuel up before, during or after your time outside with delicious grab-and-go options at Alder Creek Cafe. Open from 9AM-4PM daily starting November 27, grab delicious breakfast, lunch, quick snacks and tasty drinks right off the trail. No indoor dining is available at this time.

COVID-19 SAFETY
We are just as excited to keep you safe as we are to see you on the snow. Safety includes:

  • Little to no indoor access to facilities will be allowed to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission
  • Masks covering your nose and mouth will be required at all times indoors, in the parking lot, around trailheads and anywhere social distancing cannot be maintained
  • Ski early in the morning or after 3PM to avoid the busiest times of day
  • Our ski school is excited to soon offer private lessons by the hour with certified and professional instructors (lessons will be on sale soon and must be pre-purchased online)
