Holiday Fun in Tahoe Donner

From snowshoe tours, to New Year’s Eve dinners and fireworks – there are plenty of family-friendly activities and fun events happening right here in Tahoe Donner over the holidays.

LIGHT PARADE + FIREWORKS 
Join other skiers and riders in this fun and visual on-mountain Light Parade. Participants must register online. Those who are NOT participating in the light parade do not need to register. This free event is for any skier and rider who can ski or ride unassisted in the dark on the Snowbird run. Stick around for the New Year’s Fireworks immediately following the Light Parade. Minimal parking may be available due to recent storms. Please plan to arrive early.

Time: Parade sign ups 4:30-5:45PM | Chairs load 6:15PM | Fireworks show: Approx. 6:45-7PM
Participants may check in at the ski area from 4:30 to 6PM. Participants MUST check in no later than 6PM and be ready to load onto the chairlift at 6:15PM. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate participants that arrive late.
Cost: Free

PRO TIP: The fireworks can be seen throughout the association beyond just the Downhill Ski Resort – such as at the outdoor fire pits at Alder Creek Cafe!

NEW YEAR’S EVE GUIDED SNOWSHOE TOUR + FIREWORKS 
Celebrate the New Year with a guided snowshoe hike on Tahoe Donner’s cross country ski trails. Stay for a drink after at the Trailside Bar – a great place to watch the fireworks launched from our Downhill Ski Resort.

NEW YEAR’S EVE DINNER AT THE LODGE
Ring in the new year at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub. Enjoy the awesome winter menu and then stick around for a special champagne toast at midnight. Reservations required for dinner. Call (530) 587-9455.

DINNER, DRINKS, LIVE MUSIC + FIREWORKS VIEWING AT ALDER CREEK CAFE
Enjoy drinks, live music and dinner at Alder Creek Cafe + Trailside Bar on New Year’s Eve. Cozy up by the outdoor fire pits to watch the fireworks launched from the Downhill Ski Resort and enjoy live music by local band, Down the Rabbit Hole. No reservations are required.

SNOWPLAY SPECIAL HOLIDAY HOURS
Sledding and tubing for all ages at Snowplay. Members ages 4-12 only $5, and those with a paid Rec Fee are free. Reservations required for 75-minute time slots – including for those with paid Recreation Fees.
