Downhill Ski

Tahoe Donner Downhill – Temporarily Closed

Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area is closed for the short-term after Jan. 29, due to unfavorable weather. When more snowpack allows, the facility will reopen and all programs and events will resume as scheduled.

When open, ski school is open for all levels and ages for skiing and snowboarding. We encourage you to call ahead at 530-587-9444 to check on the most current conditions before coming out. Our conditions page is updated daily. As conditions permit, additional terrain will be opened to the public.

Did you know you can make advance reservations for lessons? Save time and book online at ShopTD or by calling us to reserve over the phone.

Please remember you may encounter unmarked obstacles. Remain cautious as you ride down the hill. Conditions change frequently, so always check our website or call to confirm we’re open before heading out.

Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area is committed to being the best place for family fun and learning in the Tahoe region. We offer a unique family experience and are known for our successful learn to ski program—one of the only in the area that starts teaching kids as young as 3 years old. In addition, our size allows us to deliver that personal touch that larger ski areas can’t always provide.

Look for a new trail this year, meandering through the trees, called “Leary’s Laugh,” in honor of a longtime Tahoe Donner employee and friend who passed away last year.

Last year, we installed a new 700 square-foot yurt, which will allow us to provide a slopeside warm area for lessons with a large sundeck. See our events schedule for fun races, family events and holiday happenings.  Check out our deals tab or follow us on facebook and twitter.
