WHY VERIFICATION MATTERS
Verification protects fair access for all members, accurate member records, and smooth entry at private amenities. Member ID Cards provide access to private amenities, including:
Beach Club Marina
Northwoods Pool
Tennis + Pickleball Center
Trout Creek Recreation Center
And access to member-exclusive pricing and discounts.
To ensure fair and consistent access, all members listed on a property must meet the qualifying family eligibility requirements under the Amenity Access Policy.
WHO NEEDS TO VERIFY?
All existing Member ID Card holders must submit verification documents by December 31, 2027 to maintain an active status.
In the meantime, if you:

Change a member
Update family relationships

WHO QUALIFIES FOR A MEMBER ID CARD? Eligible individuals include:
Property Owners (15% vested interest or greater on deed)
Spouse or Domestic Partner
Parent + Parent’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Child + Child’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Domestic Partner’s Child
Grandchild + Grandchild’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Sibling + Sibling’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Note: Children ages 3+ count toward your property’s Member ID Card allotment.

Step 2: Gather Documents
Collect documentation that verifies qualifying family relationships, such as:
For Owners: A photo ID that matches the deed on file.
For children, siblings, and parents: Birth certificates linking them to the owner.
For Spouses/Domestic Partners: Marriage certificates or domestic partnership certificates.
Additional documents that may also establish a familial relationship include:
Adoption records
Tax forms
Insurance/Medical records
Other official documents that establish the parent-child relationship

Complete the Member ID Card Verification Form and upload documents directly through the secure online portal.

Do I need to go through the verification process if I am already a member?
Yes, everyone who wants a valid Member ID Card will need to go through the verification process. This process ensures that all qualifying individuals have fair and secure access to Tahoe Donner’s private amenities. Verifying all members helps maintain accurate records and prevents misuse. This is a one-time process designed to improve the overall member experience.
Who qualifies as a Member?
Individuals must meet one of the following criteria:
Be an owner listed on the deed with at least 15% ownership.
Be an eligible “Owner Family” member as defined by the Amenity Access Rule, including:
Spouse or Domestic Partner
Parent and Parent’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Child and Child’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Domestic Partner’s Child
Grandchild and Grandchild’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
Sibling and Sibling’s Spouse/Domestic Partner
What documents do I need for verification?
To verify eligibility, official documents are required and may include:

What if I cannot find my child’s birth certificate?
A birth certificate is the quickest and most efficient way to verify a familial relationship. However, other official documents may also be used to verify the relationship.
Acceptable forms of documentation include:
School records
Medical records
Tax records
School registration documents
Health insurance documents
Other official documents that clearly establish the parent-child relationship.
Do I need original documents?
No. You may present copies of the required documents or upload them through our secure Member Verification Form. Original documents are not required.
At what age must my child have a valid Member ID Card?
Children ages 3 to 6 are eligible to receive a Member ID Card at no additional cost once they are verified on a property. However, these cards do count toward the maximum of 10 Member ID Cards allowed per property.
Children age 7 and older are considered regular Member ID Cardholders and are subject to the same card limits and applicable fees. This means a fee will apply if they are cardholders #5 through #10 on the property.
Can I verify in person?
Yes, you are welcome to join one of our events for in-person verification, or stop by our office with all the copies of your verification documents.
In-person verification can take up to 30 minutes, depending on the number of individuals being verified. If you complete the Member Verification Form in advance, Member Services will process the verification within 24 hours, depending on workload, and notify you when your ID cards are ready for pickup. This option allows you to avoid waiting in the office.

What happens if I miss the deadline to verify my Member ID Cardholders?
If verification is not completed by the deadline (December 31, 2027), Member ID Cards and associated amenity access privileges will be suspended until the verification process is completed.
