Lodge Tent Noise Mitigation Update and Next Steps

The current delivery estimate for Tahoe Donner’s new Pavilion Tent is July 7. We hope to use it for the Giving Fund Dinner & Auction on July 11, but if delivery or setup is delayed the old tent will be used instead.

We have a new commercial decibel reader and have created protocols testing sound readings at a number of locations at property boundaries to ensure we are following guidelines set by the Town of Truckee. At this point we have maintained and stayed below those guidelines with regular readings during banquet events. Our banquet manager also requires strict performance regulations with the music contractors to ensure they are also doing their part with sound levels. We also regularly coordinate staff engagement with neighboring property residents to hear their concerns – if any – with banquet operations at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub.

The next element we are finalizing is a proof of concept for additional sound dampening (sound walls or sound curtains, for example). An acoustical consulting company in Loomis will provide more recommendations and we’ll analyze their report to find the best solution.
