‘Tis the Season for Giving: Donate Toys, Coats + More at TD
Member News, Northwoods Clubhouse, The Lodge Restaurant & Pub, Trout Creek Recreation CenterThrough Dec. 11, we invite you to join us in the season of giving, and what better way to embrace the spirit of generosity than by contributing to local initiatives that positively impact the community? Whether you’re in Tahoe Donner or outside the area, you have the perfect opportunity to spread joy and warmth by donating toys, food, coats and more at various locations. Let’s take a closer look at the ways you can make a difference this holiday season. For a list of drop-off locations, please visit the Truckee Community Cares website.
TOY DRIVE
Brighten a child’s holiday by contributing to the Toy Drive. Several convenient drop-off locations have been established, including the Trout Creek Rec Center, the Northwoods Clubhouse and The Lodge Restaurant & Pub. Gifts for teenagers are always in short supply. Gift cards, beanies, gloves, candles, backpacks, Bluetooth speakers, skateboards, scooters and movie passes are great for teens. The Toy Drive will not be accepting books, stuffed animals, toy guns or any item not packaged. All toys must be new, unused and in their original packaging and delivered by Dec. 11.
COAT DRIVE
As temperatures drop, there’s a growing need for warm clothing. You can help by contributing to the gently used coat bins at the Trout Creek Rec Center, The Lodge Restaurant & Pub and the Northwoods Clubhouse. Dig through your closets and donate coats that are still in good condition but no longer needed. Please deliver all coats by Dec. 11.
FOOD DRIVE
Truckee Community Cares is no longer collecting donated food items at grocery stores or local locations and instead provides families with grocery gift cards to local markets via an online donation portal. This enables them to purchase the items that best fit their diet and complement their holiday meal. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so through the Truckee Community Cares website.
