Registration for 2017 Day Camps is Now Open for Members and March 15 at 8 a.m. for Guests

Our diverse camp programs for ages 3 to 14 are packed full of learning and exploration. We believe in challenging your kids through new and diverse outdoor experiences. Our programs focus on outdoor education and environmental awareness. Day campers will participate in various activities such as swimming, rock climbing, beach outings, hiking and exploring the Tahoe National Forest. Our staff aims to give each child a great mountain experience while providing a fun and safe learning environment.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

Ready to enroll your children in a summer of fun-filled activities? Each camp lasts five days spanning Monday through Friday, EXCEPT THE WEEK OF JULY 4. THERE WILL BE NO CAMP ON JULY 4. All camps are for member and member guests. Early registration is necessary.

2017 Day Camp Programs

High Mountain Kids Camp – Sign Up Now

3- and 4-year-olds | Downhill Ski Area

This exciting age-appropriate program will continually keep your youngster engaged. Our experienced staff will focus on providing a nurturing environment for your young ones while helping them to develop motor skills and social skills. This camp spotlights nature education, outdoor activities, hiking, arts and crafts, creative play, and a Wednesday BBQ at the Beach Club Marina. Please note that the activities offered may vary from week to week. Participants must bring a day pack, snack and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page. If signed up for the extended day (12-2 p.m.), participants must bring a lunch.

Important: Children must be potty trained to attend this camp and age 3 by the first day of the session the child is attending. No pull-ups are allowed.

Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (check in at 8:30 a.m.)

Where: Drop-off and pick-up at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area parking lot for M, T, Th, and F; Wednesday: Beach Day! Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina.

Extended Hours! Campers will play games and do arts and crafts at the

Downhill Ski Area (or the Beach Club Marina on Wednesdays).

5-year-olds | Downhill Ski Area

This camp focuses on nature education, outdoor activities, hiking, outdoor games, as well as arts and crafts, and a Wednesday BBQ at the Beach Club Marina. These are just some of the highlights of what this camp offers and activities may vary from week to week. Participants must bring a day pack with a hearty snack, sweatshirt and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page.

Time: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (check in at 8:30 a.m.)

Where: Drop-off and pick-up at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area parking lot on M, T, Th, and F

Wednesday: Beach Day! Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina.

Pioneers – Sign Up Now

6- and 7-year-olds | Downhill Ski Area

As your camper grows, so does their camp. This year your camper will experience adventures such as a water safety class, hiking, indoor rock climbing, outdoor living skills, arts and crafts, outdoor education and a Wednesday BBQ at the Beach Club Marina. Field trips and activities may vary from week to week. Participants must bring a day pack with a hearty lunch, sweatshirt and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page.

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (check in at 8:30 a.m.)

Where: Drop-off and pick-up at the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area parking lot on M, T, Th, and F.

Wednesday: Beach Day! Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina

Club Tahoe Donner – Sign Up Now

8- and 9-year-olds | Alder Creek Adventure Center

Campers will love the adventurous activities offered in this camp. Each day a new excursion will take place and activities may vary from week to week. Activities include trips to the beach, pool, outdoor bouldering, hiking in the Sierra, archery, personal water safety classes, outdoor survival skills, ropes course, water sports, mountain biking and team-building. Arts and crafts, outdoor games, and other favorites will also be included. Participants must bring a day pack with a hearty lunch, sweatshirt and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page.

Time: 9:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday (check in at 8:45 a.m.)

Where: Drop-off and pick-up at the Alder Creek Adventure Center on M, T, Th, and F.

Wednesday: Beach Day! Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina

Donner Lake Adventure Camp – Sign Up Now

10- and 12-year-olds | Beach Club Marina

This camp is designed to enhance your camper’s teamwork skills, self confidence and outdoor survival knowledge. Many adventures are offered from week to week that may include: swimming, hiking in the Sierra, team building activities, summit rock climbing, arts and crafts, water sports lessons, junior lifeguard lessons, biking, golf, Wednesday BBQ’s at the Beach Club Marina and archery. Participants must bring a day pack with a hearty lunch, sweatshirt and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page.

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday (check in at 9 a.m.)

Where: Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina at the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse is located at the exit gate in the Marina Parking lot.

Wednesday: Beach Day! Drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina, 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Leadership Training Camp – Sign Up Now

13- and 14-year-olds | Beach Club Marina

Leadership Training Camp is an intensive 5-day program in which your camper will experience all that leadership training has to offer. Campers will be required to keep a journal of daily notes and thoughts about their experience. This is an experiential-based learning program in which the campers will participate in in-depth team-building, leadership development, outdoor living skills, hands-on camp counselor experience and personal growth. These sessions will NOT include arts and are designed as more of a learning and training experience. Full participation is required to maintain placement within the program. Hard work is expected from all participants. Participants must bring a hearty lunch, sweatshirt and the essentials listed on the Parent Information page.

Sessions: 2, 4 & 6

Time: 8:30 a.m. -4 p.m. on T, W, TH and 9 – 4 p.m. on M and F

Where: On M, W and F, drop-off and pick-up at the Beach Club Marina Clubhouse, located at the exit gate in the Marina Parking lot. On T and TH, drop-off will be at the Downhill Ski Area parking lot. Please pay special attention to your camper’s schedule for specific details.

Cost: Member $239, Guest $259

Please note that times and activities are approximate and may change depending on availability, weather, and scheduling constraints. Refunds will not be given due to scheduling conflicts or changes.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

IMPORTANT: Please take careful note of the age level requirements for each camp program and make sure that your child is eligible to attend that program. The age requirements are established for the safety and well being of your child. If a child is found to be registered in a program for which he/she is not eligible, his/her registration will be cancelled and no refund will be given. There will be no exceptions with children’s ages for camp. All children must be potty trained to attend any camp. Children in pull-ups will not be allowed to attend camp.

CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES AND REFUNDS

All cancellations and/or changes must be made 14 days prior to the first day of the session for which you are registered and a processing fee of $15 will be charged. No changes will be made or refunds given less than 14 days prior to the first day of the session for which you are registered.

SICK CHILD POLICY: Sick children should be kept home for the safety and well being of all camp participants and staff. Camp fees will be refunded on a prorated schedule based on the number of days attended or number of days the camp spot is held for a sick child hoping to return. Refunds may be given based on the ability to fill a spot if notice is given 24 hours in advance of the start of the camp session.

DROP-INS: All Tahoe Donner Day Camp programs are five-day sessions. Daily drop-ins are not permitted. You may choose to attend partial weeks, but full camp registration will be due. Drop-ins are welcome for our Adventure Recreation Days (RAD) program as space permits. Learn more about RAD.
