Equestrian Body Mechanics Riders’ Workshop

Come join us for the first Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center Riders’ Workshop! This workshop is open to anyone interested in improving their riding mechanics. You will learn how to enhance your body awareness through self-assessment techniques, exercise principles, targeted yoga and mobility work and more!

The workshop will comprise of a lecture, discussions, guided testing, exercise stations and a manual for all your takeaway points. Exercise equipment will be provided. Dr. Irina Fedulow-Plante, a licensed physical therapist and board-certified neurologic clinical specialist, will lead the workshop. She grew up riding western and endurance and has treated equestrians for several years, both for orthopedic and neurological injuries. She has also done wellness and fitness consultations for riders. Irina is passionate about horses and has incorporated hippotherapy into her practice in California and Nevada. She serves as a program director for the Achieve Tahoe Adaptive Horsemanship Program. Lastly, Irina is a registered yoga teacher and in the process of obtaining her equestrian yoga certification. 

All the activities will be completed overground without horses. This workshop is not intended to diagnose or treat injuries. It is focused on exercises and wellness components for horseback riders. If you have any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions that can impact your ability to safely participate in this workshop, speak with your medical provider first.
