Tahoe Donner Cross Country prides itself with being able to offer clinics with some of the Region’s best instructors.
Ski Improvement Clinics: Offered most weekends on different topics – to help you improve your classic and skate techniques and skiing fun.
Improve your classic and skate skills with TDXC Ski School. TDXC will offer 4 weeks of drop-in clinics Saturday mornings from 9:00 -10:00 am beginning March 5 and continuing through March 26. Topics will include classic diagonal stride, classic double pole, V1 skate and V2/V2 alternate skate techniques. Participants will come away from each session with drills and tips they can use to progress beyond the basics skills of our beginner classes. Participants should be comfortable on intermediate terrain.
Saturday 3/5 9:00 a.m. Classic Striding – Dig in to the fundamental classic technique. We will do some serious work on effective push-off and glide.
Saturday 3/12 9:00 a.m. Skate V1 – Correct body position and timing can improve your climbing efficiency. Learn the nuances between what’s hot and what’s not.
Saturday 3/19 9:00 a.m. Classic Double Pole – If the mere mention of double poling makes your arms and back ache this is the clinic for you. Double poling is an efficient and fast way to cover the flats. A good double pole is an essential part of skating as well. We will spend time learning to unleash the big core muscle groups to save the back and arms on those days when your kick wax leaves you hanging.
Saturday 3/26 9:00 a.m. Skate V2/V2 alternate – Cover ground fast with the V2 and V2 alternate. Being smooth on your skis requires balance. Learn how to improve your balance, timing and weight transfer to take advantage of big glide while skate skiing. Start going places, fast!
