Tahoe Donner Invasive Weed Walk:  Aug, 2, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., lunch to follow

Join the Friends of Tahoe Donner Trails and the Truckee River Watershed Council’s Weed Warriors for an educational invasive week walk here in Tahoe Donner. We’ll visit multiple sites, carpooling from place to place, and walking out short distances to see a variety of infestations. For all the details and to RSVP (required), please visit the Friends of Tahoe Donner Trails club website at

19th Annual Truckee River Day: Oct.  19, 9 a.m.

Join us for a day of river, meadow and wetland restoration. Work side-by-side with other volunteers to plant restoration sites with seedlings and willows, remove invasive vegetation, compost and mulch sensitive areas, remove garbage and more. Start at either 9 or 11 a.m. (weather dependent) and end between 2 and 3 p.m. Registration with the Tahoe Donner Forestry department at 530-587-9432 is required and will open approximately one month prior to Truckee River Day 2014. After the day’s work, join the rest of Truckee River Day participants at the River Fair to celebrate the Truckee River!
