WHAT IS THE PROJECT?

  • Re-paving of all cart paths. It involves tree and root removal, re-routing and widening paths as needed, complete pulverization and new asphalt paving throughout, except where paths were recently replaced.

WHY THIS PROJECT?

  • Cart paths necessitate replacement due to extensive root damage, bumps, cracking and general deterioration.
  • Cart path damage impacts a golf cart’s useful life; repairs will ultimately extend the life of the cart fleet.

WHAT ARE THE IMPACTS?

  • Over-the-snow tree removal operations are scheduled to take place during winter 2023-2024 for reduced impacts to the course.
  • Portions of the golf course may be closed during paving demolition and new paving.
  • Phased replacement approach to minimize impacts to operation:
    • Phase 1 – Front nine replacement currently anticipated in spring 2024, prior to golf course opening, as conditions permit.
    • Phase 2 – Back nine replacement anticipated in fall 2024, after Labor Day.

WHAT IS THE STATUS?

  • Contractor bids received in 2022 for construction in 2023.
  • The project was postponed due to 2022-2023 heavy winter and deep snow conditions on the course in spring 2023; we did not want to interrupt operations in the fall due to the late start to the season.
  • Contractors are updating bids for 2024 construction.

WHAT IS THE TOTAL COST OR BUDGET?

  • The approved 2024 Budget includes $1,600,000 for construction, funded from the Replacement Reserve Fund.
